Sir Elton John says he “cannot wait to relive the magic” of his 1974 and 2005 concerts at Vicarage Road next May.

Sir Elton, who is a two-time Watford FC chairman, will be holding a concert at the club’s stadium on May 29 next year to raise money for player transfers.

It is the third time he will be holding such an event and the world superstar claims he cannot wait.

“Watford Football Club has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember,” the 62-year-old said.

“The club has given me great happiness, moral support and often helped keep my feet on the ground.”

He continued: “To have been chairman of Watford when we went to Wembley for the [FA] cup final, that really is the stuff of dreams.

“And even though I am less involved on a day-to-day basis now, Watford stays in my heart and wherever I am in the world, I never miss a match.

“The two concerts I played on the pitch in 1974 and 2005 were magic and I can’t wait to relive that magic next May.”
