The Hornets have this evening released details of ticketing arrangements for next summer’s event, which is to raise money for player transfers.

The club has relaxed their rules after the 2005 concert and anyone wanting to attend will be able to purchase up to 20 tickets when they go on sale on Monday, November 9.

But season ticket holders who want to buy more than 20 can do so by filling out a group form from today, which will then be processed when the ticket office opens on the first day of sale.

Season ticket holders will be able to purchase tickets from 8am on November 9 but only via the club’s website.

The following day will again be season ticket holders only but this time supporters will be able to secure their place by phone and online from 9am.

On Wednesday, the ‘remainder of the WFC database’ will be able to purchase their tickets online only and then the following day by phone and online, with the ticket office opening at 9am once more.

The club says non-season tickets holders who haven’t booked online before need to know their unique Fan ID number, as found on their Fan card or previous match tickets, before activating their account and suggest doing this before trying to purchase tickets for the event.

Tickets will then go on general sale on Friday, November 13 but will again be online only, before being available by phone on the following Monday.

Seats on the pitch directly in front of the stage and tickets for the Upper Rous will be £100, the rest of the pitch seating will be £75 and the Lower Rous, Vicarage Road and Rookery End will be £55.

Disabled supporters will be situated on raised platforms in front of the Lower Rous and should contact Joanne Simonds on 01923 496250 between Monday November 2 and Friday November 6 if they wish to attend.

Not that all season ticket holders will want to go and see Elton doddering around on stage, but given that WFC has around 10,000 season ticket holders, if everyone applied for their allocation of 20 tickets (unlikely) that means 200,000 in the ground. Has this been thought through? Even if one third of season tickets buy their permitted 20 tickets that's over 60,000

Could not agree more on this really poor ticket allocation decision. Being a lifelong true Watford and EJ fan, (but unfortunately not a season ticket holder), getting a decent ticket for this gig is unlikely. Surely an allocation of four per season ticket would have been more than enough for most people. Lets hope there is some process that will stop the spivs, but I doubt it.
