Hoarding marked "coming soon" has been spotted ahead of a business’s new location opening in the former John Lewis unit.

In February atria Watford confirmed that B&M would be among the businesses moving into what used to be its largest unit, after it was divided up.

No opening date was announced, beyond confirmation that it would be coming this year.

More recently, the lower level of the former John Lewis has been covered up and decorated with B&M branding.

“Your new B&M Watford coming soon,” it says. “We can’t wait to meet you.”

When the opening was first announced, a B&M Retail spokesperson said: “We’re incredibly excited about our new store opening coming to atria Watford and we’re feeling extremely positive about being able to create more jobs for local people.

“We hope customers are going to be delighted with the news that B&M is coming to this prime location and we’re excited to start welcoming them through the doors when we open later in the year.”

The existing store on the high street will not be closing.

Dunelm and Poundland have already opened inside the divided-up space while Choice Discount, Peacocks, and Bonmarché have also been announced as upcoming additions.

B&M has been contacted for an updated expected opening date.
