Anthony Joshua was back in his childhood estate yesterday where he was spotted bestowing words of wisdom to local youngsters.

The boxer, who grew up in the Meriden estate, was driving around the area in a Range Rover as he stopped by to inspire the kids to work hard and achieve their dreams.

On Snapchat yesterday (September 15), Joshua stopped to ask a group of kids on what they want to be when they’re older, to which they responded footballers, a boxer and a rapper.

Joshua told the group of ten and 12-year-olds: “That’s a talent yeah, obviously a bit of hard work.

“But let’s say you had to use your brains and you went through the route of getting a job, obviously there’s a bit of talent in that as you have to use your brain – what would you want to be?

“A doctor? A lawyer?”

The group then suggested they would aim to be a CEO or a football manager.

While Joshua’s advice was cut short on video, he concluded: “When I’m an old man and you all get older and start moving on with your life and you move to different parts of Watford and different parts of London, you’re going to come back to this estate and you’re going to tell the kids stay focused and be good at school.

“Always teach the kids good stuff, be good at school and looking after mum and dad yeah?

“I believe in you lot you know. Don’t let me down, or I’ll have to come back and get you.”

Later on Joshua stopped to speak to two teenagers, as one of them recited what Joshua said: “I’ve seen AJ, he’s in a Range Rover. And what you gotta do, is you gotta put in the work.”

The two then chanted that they have to “grind” and put in the work.

The boxer finished the video by asking: “And what are you saying knock out who?”, to which they responded: “Knock out Fury man.”

Later this year Joshua will star in a pre-recorded Snapchat series called ‘A fighting chance with Anthony Joshua’ where he will talk about his life and be a mentor for the younger generation in Watford.
