Two roads on a housing estate that were in such a bad state someone wrote ‘fix me’ have been resurfaced.

After much "pestering", work took place in Raphael Drive and Brocklesbury Close on the Radlett Road estate last week.

Both roads were littered with potholes prompting someone to scrawl ‘fix me’ in a bid to grab the attention of Hertfordshire County Council.

Responding to the graffiti on the road, the council accepted work was needed but encouraged people to let them know about such issues by reporting via its online tool.

This week, Central Watford Liberal Democrat county councillor shared images of the newly re-laid roads on Facebook.

He wrote: “It may have taken over three years of reporting faults, pestering county council officers to resurface and repair the two principle estate roads here - Raphael Drive and Brocklesbury Close - but they have been done.

“Some now and before photos below - what a change! Persistence pays off!”
