A woman charged with attempted robbery allegedly had a stick with scissors tied to it and attacked police.

Kirsty Louise Piper, of Bateson Drive, Watford is set to appear in crown court charged with the attempted robbery of Ambush Street Mini Market in Northampton on October 20.

Two days later (October 22) she is alleged to have assaulted a police officer by beating him, been threatening or abusive, and possessed a knife blade or sharply pointed article in a public place, namely Harvey Reeves Road, Northampton.

According to court documents this refers to two pairs of scissors and “a stick upon which a pair of scissors had been tied around making it bladed/ sharply pointed”

The 33-year-old appeared in Northampton Magistrates’ Court on October 24 and the court directed a trial by jury.

She is due to appear in Northampton Crown Court on December 7 for plea and trial preparation.

Piper has been granted conditional bail.

Bail conditions include an electronically monitored curfew at her address in Leavesden, Watford.
