The teen appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 28, and faces six charges for offences in Watford the previous day.

The boy is also accused of driving an e-scooter without a licence or insurance in Rickmansworth Road.

He has been remanded into youth detention accommodation and his next appearance, on April 5, is listed as being for plea and for a second bail application.

The boy, from Luton, cannot be named for legal reasons as he is under 18.

E-scooters are classed as motor vehicles so rules including the need to have a licence, insurance and tax apply.

It is currently impossible to insure privately owned e-scooters, so it is illegal to use them on the road or in public spaces.
