Sir Elton John’s return was a clear hit with live audiences and readers as demonstrated by the many pictures and videos sent to the Observer.
The music legend wowed the crowds at Vicarage Road Stadium and spoke on his love for the Hornets, delivering a homecoming show unlike any of the hundreds of other stops along his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.

Those in attendance say they were blown away by his voice and ability to play the whole two-and-a-half hour show with no break and no support acts.
I heard Elton John sing Your Song for the first time at the Speakeasy Club in 1970 and it blew me away. Tonight he performed it at his last UK performance at my football club Watford and he blew me away again. #EltonFarewellTour pic.twitter.com/6IOpoXUQnB

I was lucky enough to play a part in the 2005 & 2010 concerts @eltonofficial performed at VR but I’m so glad I could go as a fan tonight & be immersed in a pure & wholehearted @WatfordFC love in! We are so lucky. #EltonFarewellTour #watfordfc #thankyouGT #yoursong 💛🖤❤️ pic.twitter.com/oBjmChv4D9
