A Watford film set reportedly contributed to a worldwide shortage in pink paint.
The upcoming Barbie movie is set in Barbieland, which was largely created in Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden and covered in so much fluorescent pink that the film’s production designer Sarah Greenwood claimed “the world ran out of pink”.
After her comments, to Architectural Digest, the paint company used by the film added context when speaking to the Los Angeles Times.

Lauren Proud, from the paint company Rosco, admitted the film's sets used up the last of its stock during production last year, saying “they did clean us out on paint".
However, she questioned whether the movie could claim all the credit as the pandemic did a lot of the damage to the global supply chain.
The film is directed by Oscar-nominated Greta Gerwig, of Lady Bird and Little Women fame and stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling as Barbie and Ken respectively.
The huge set constructed in Leavesden features pink houses, roads, streetlights, signs, clothes, and mansions.
Barbie is set to be released in UK cinemas on July 21.
