A new Greggs appears set to open in a vacant retail unit in the town.

After the £25million Watford Business Park in Faraday Close, near the West Watford Morrisons, was completed last month, a planning application suggests where many workers there will be getting lunch.

The proposal to Watford Borough Council, submitted yesterday (January 18), asks for permission to install three illuminated signs outside Unit 1, the retail unit in the north-east corner of the development.

The signs bear the Greggs logo and name and would be placed above the front and back doors alongside one square sign on a wall.

Separately, Greggs PLC has also asked for permission to install two air conditioning condenser units and two extract vents for the same unit.

The 4.3-acre gateway to Watford Business Park in Faraday Close was transformed from a car park into 13 industrial and warehouse units.

It has been geared towards attracting businesses in high-value sectors, particularly film and TV, life sciences, and manufacturing to the business park, which spans 74 acres in total.
