Tickets for both nights of Ricky Gervais performing in Watford sold out in less than 10 minutes.

The co-creator of The Office will be performing at Watford Palace Theatre on May 28 and 29, with both shows starting at 7pm.

The performances were announced on short-notice when the venue confirmed Gervais was the “big name comedian” it had been teasing on Wednesday (May 8), but still attracted massive demand.

Tickets were initially only on sale to ‘Palace Pals’ members from 10am on yesterday before going on sale to the general public from 10am today.

Watford Palace Theatre has confirmed that all of the tickets were gone by 10.10am.

“Thank you to everyone who booked tickets. Ricky Gervais & Friends has now sold out,” it said.

The two nights at Watford Palace Theatre are part of a run of gigs where he will be testing out new material.

During the show, Ricky Gervais & Friends, he will be joined by fellow comedians at times during the performance.

It follows the success of his previous special, Armageddon, which won a Golden Globe and was Netflix’s most watched show when it released.
