An 18-year-old has been charged and £15,000 in class A drugs has been seized after a drugs raid.

Herts Police forced entry into an address in Francis Road, Watford, at 7.30am yesterday (August 17), to execute a warrant.

Officers found several packages of cocaine and heroin as they searched the property which they believe to have a total value of around £15,000.

Hadi Alshikh Khamis, 18, was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs (cocaine and heroin).

Detective Inspector Chris Parperi said: “This latest operation is part of our ongoing efforts to target and disrupt those involved in supplying class A drugs in Watford.

“The violence and exploitation often associated with county lines networks causes untold harm to our communities and often targets the vulnerable.

“For that reason, we will not rest in our mission to seek out those who choose to supply and sell illegal drugs in our town.”

He added that the raid was the result of a team effort involving the Local Crime Unit, the Watford Scorpion Team, the Operational Support Group, and the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Armed Policing Unit.

Khamis, of Francis Road in Watford, remains in custody and is due to appear at Hatfield Remand Court later today.

Updated, August 22: Khamis was remanded in custody following his court appearance last week and has been sent for trial at St Albans Crown Court, with a start date scheduled for Tuesday, September 19.
