Speeding is one of the most common offences landing people on court lists and these five people have ended up there so far this month.

Each offender, from Watford or Rickmansworth, breached the 30mph limit common to most built up areas in the country and ended up going to court over it.

The speeds hit ranged from 36mph to 46mph, and fines were between £100 and £706.

Glenythan Ronald Haysman

Glenythan Ronald Haysman, 70, of London Road in Rickmansworth, was fined for driving a Hyundai at 36mph in Watford on April 17, 2023.

He was ordered to pay a £295 total and given three points on his licence at Stevenage Magistrates' Court on March 21.

Steven Michaelides

Steven Michaelides, of Highlands, Watford, was ordered to pay a total of £106 and had his driving record endorsed with three points after speeding in Watford.

He had been driving at 37mph on May 8, 2023, in a Volvo.

The 55-year-old appeared in Stevenage Magistrates' Court on March7.

Stephanie Listelle Campbell

Stephanie Listelle Campbell, 39, of Fourth Avenue, Watford, was caught going at 36mph in a Vauxhall car on June 16, 2023.

She was ordered to pay £100 and her driving record was endorsed with three points.

Campbell appeared in St Albans Magistrates Court on March 19.

Lawrence Bertrand Gaston

Lawrence Gaston, of Kings Avenue, Watford, was recorded going at 46 miles per hour in a Volkswagen in North Kensington, London, on August 20, 2023.

The 35-year-old was ordered to pay £304 and given five points on his licence.

He was sentenced at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court on March 4.

Yusuf Mohamed

Yusuf Mohamed, 81, was also caught speeding in a Volkswagen in North Kensington, on August 29, 2023.

Mohamed, of St Pauls Way, Watford, was going at 41 miles per hour and ordered to pay £706. His licence was endorsed with four points.

He was sentenced at Lavender Hill Magistrates' Court on March 6.
